No person may be registered as a student in a program of TUT, unless he or she has complied with the following

  • A pass mark in English at Senior Certificate level (minimum additional language; certain perograms may require first or home language status)
  • Each course has its own specific admission requirements.
  • Prospective students should note that the admission requirements of individual perograms could change from year to year.
  • For some perograms, students will be required to write an admission test, which will determine whether they will be admitted to the perogram, or whether it will be recommended to them that they enrol for a relevant foundation course.

Please note:

In accordance with HESA requirements, a minimum score of 1600 is needed for admission to a degree, with a sub minimum of not less than 500 for Critical Reading and Mathematics and 550 for Writing.

The percentiles on the SAT certificate can be used to derive scores for Mathematics and English, as indicated in the table above. The student’s college entrance certificate (such as the certificate issued by the ACE School of Tomorrow) or individual SAT subject tests should be used for the scores of any other subjects required.

  4. A full application submitted entirely must include the certified copy of your ID and a certified copy of your latest school results as stated above.

Re-admission

Distance Education: Durban and Cape Town students who were inactive or not registered prior and up to the first semester 2021, may apply for re-admission for 2022 and will only be allowed to register for 2022 after and if their re-admission applications were approved by the Academic Department.​
