Applications for admission to honors degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2022 academic year
Everyone wanting to start a new qualification must apply for admission, including first-time Varsity College applicants, students changing to a new qualification and/or changing the specialization of their current qualification, and applicants in their final year of an undergraduate qualification who wish to continue with postgraduate studies.
Admission Requirements
Please refer to the detail below for the requirements for admission to The Independent Institute of Education’s (The IIE’s) (Pty) Ltd higher education learning programs. Additional admission requirements may apply to some academic programs. Details will be in the fact sheet provided for each relevant program.
Higher Certificate
- A NSC with Higher Certificate admission – A minimum of 30% for English is required; OR
- A NC(V) with Higher Certificate admission – A minimum of 40% in English on either First Additional Language or Home Language level, with a minimum of 30% in Maths or Maths Literacy, a minimum of 40% in Life Orientation and a minimum of 50% in four vocational subjects; OR
- A SC (without endorsement) or equivalent – A minimum of 5 subjects must be passed.
Additional admission requirements apply to students with a School of Tomorrow (SOT) Certificate. Contact your nearest campus for more information.
Mature Age Exemption:
- Candidates must have attempted Matric/Grade 12, reached the age of 23 before or during the first year of registration with three years’ work experience and a proven ability relating to the proposed program as well as adequate communicative skills; OR
- Candidates must have reached the age of 45 before or during the first year of registration.
Diploma
- An NSC with Higher Certificate admission – A minimum of 30% for English and two (2) other subjects, coupled with a minimum of 40% for three (3) NSC subjects; OR
- An NC(V) with Higher Certificate admission – A minimum of 40% in English on either First Additional Language or Home Language level, with a minimum of 30% in Maths or Maths Literacy, a minimum 40% in Life Orientation and a minimum of 50% in four (4) vocational subjects; OR
- An SC (without endorsement) or equivalent – A minimum of five (5) subjects must be passed.

How to Apply?
The following steps will guide you to successfully go through your application process:
- First, visit the official website of the institution via https://www.varsitycollege.co.za/. Click on APPLY ONLINE to fill your form or acquire your application form at the school’s Campus. Students should apply within the application cycle. This prevents rejected applications.
- Fill in the form with all necessary documentation (Latest Academic Results). Certified copy of guardian\parent ID , Proof of residence, and Student certified ID.
- Remember you will need email address when filling the form, It is, therefore, advisable to create an email address if you don’t have one.
- A full application submitted entirely must include the certified copy of your ID and a certified copy of your latest school results as stated above.
IMPORTANT:
Please note that to apply – you must upload a certified copy of your South African National ID or passport so please ensure that this is available for upload.
Further we will evaluate your application based on the documentation that we receive from you, therefore if you provide us with your most recent academic eligibility documentation – we will be able to provide you with a more accurate assessment of your eligibility, which will determine your offer of Admission.
Should your application be incomplete due to outstanding documents or because such documentation has not been certified, you will receive a Provisional Offer.

Dates And Deadlines
Undergraduate IIE Degree applications closed on 12 November 2021
Applications for 2022 open on 1 April.
Late applications for Full Time degrees will be considered should space be available, with a late non–refundable application fee of R1750 levied.
Diploma and Higher Certificate program applications will remain open until programs are full. Fees are payable online or through EFT.
Once payment has been made a Student Advisor will then contact you to complete the application process.
Please note that in order to process your Full-Time and Part-Time application a non-refundable fee of R400 is required for full-time applications and R250 for Part-Time (contact) and Distance applications.
NB: All applicants who have successfully submitted their application forms should constantly check their online application status for more updates on their application.

Log in to the application status page. Click on “Change Email Address”. Then enter your new email address and click “Request Change”
