University of Makeni UNIMAK Library – Sierra Leone

University of Makeni UNIMAK Library – see details below:

The University Library
When the University of Makeni (UNIMAK) started as an institute, The Fatima Institute (TFI), in 2005, it had a small building as its library. In August 2009, TFI was accredited university status by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) of Sierra Leone.

Before the end of 2009, a whole building was built to serve as the library of the university. In early 2010, the current library was set up with new shelves, consignments of text books, journals, magazines, novels, encyclopedia, etc. and was officially opened. This current library makes provision for offices for the chief librarian and other library staff, and also a room furnished with computers that are connected to the internet for students to do research.

The current library is opened for use from Monday to Saturday from 09:00 am to 09:00 pm. During its opening hours, all registered students of the university can pick up books, journals, magazines, etc from the shelves, use the reading space provided and return the items to shelf after use. Students who wish to take a book, magazine, journal, etc outside the library building must discuss that with the chief librarian. It is only with the approval of the chief librarian that a student can take a book, journal, magazine, etc outside the library building.
