University of Johannesburg Postgraduate Online Application – How to Apply:

Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2022 academic year

Everyone wanting to start a new qualification must apply for admission, including first-time University of Johannesburg applicants, students changing to a new qualification and/or changing the specialization of their current qualification, and applicants in their final year of an undergraduate qualification who wish to continue with postgraduate studies.

How to Apply?

The following steps will guide you to successfully go through your application process:

  1. First, visit the official website of the institution via https://www.uj.ac.za/apply  to fill your form or acquire your application form at the school’s Campus. Students should apply within the application cycle. This prevents rejected applications.
  2. Fill in the form with all necessary documentation (Latest Academic Results) that is required of you to support your application. Certified copy of guardian\parent ID , Proof of residence, and  Student certified ID.
  3. Remember you will need email address when filling the form, It is, therefore, advisable to create an email address if you don’t have one. Also, remember to provide a valid cell Phone number when filling the forms because the school will text you if you are given admission.
  4. A full application submitted entirely must include the certified copy of your ID and a certified copy of your latest school results as stated above.

Application Requirements – The selection Process

What does the selection process entail?

  • Submit a completed application form with supporting documents
  • Final School results
  • Valid Passport or Identity Document or Birth Certificate
  • Sworn English Translation of documents (Documents issued in any language other than English)
  • Provide proof of a non –  refundable Application Fee R200.00
  • Provide proof of the English Proficiency where English was not used as a medium of learning and teaching (the University prefers the applicant to take the IELTS at an overall score of 6 and TOEFL at an average score of 80–104 for Undergraduate programs) Alternatively, you may elect to write the University of Johannesburg English Language Programme Test (UJELP).  Should you choose to write the University of Johannesburg English Language Programme Test (UJELP), Mr. Malibongwe Masango will be the contact person for UJELP.   • In case were both first and second choices were unsuccessful, the International Admissions Office will offer an international applicant an alternative choice option when meeting the requirements
  • Should you require on-campus accommodation, please submit a completed residence application form at the same time you apply to study at UJ

Degree-seeking students

In order to study for a South African degree applicants are required to have achieved a South African National Senior Certificate with a degree endorsement. All International applicants with high school qualifications achieved outside of the Republic of South Africa require a certificate of exemption from the Matriculation Board of South Africa for admission into undergraduate studies. The following supporting documents must be submitted to the Matriculation Board on the address provided below;

  • Form M30
  • Correctly certified copies of the applicant’s educational qualifications certified by a South African High Commission, Consulate, Trade Mission or a Public Notary in your home country
  • A correctly certified copy of your passport or birth certificate certified by a South African High Commission, Consulate, Trade Mission or a Public Notary in your home country
  • Sworn English Translation of documents (Documents issued in any language other than English)
  • Exemption fee as determined by the Matriculation Board
  • Submit proof of payment for the Exemption fee of R562 payable to the banking details below
