POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN PROCUREMENT (PGDP) (TWO SEMESTERS)

Course Profile

This course is aimed primarily at procurement professionals already in post but who require further training to increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency. The course is also designed for individuals wishing to enter the procurement profession.

Duration: One Academic Year (two semesters)

Compulsory Modules:

Semester I:

PGP611 Managing Human Resources in Purchasing & Supply

PGP612 Financial Management in Procurement and Supply

PGP613 Legal and Procurement Environment

PGP614 Supply and Materials Management

PGP615 The Procurement Environment

PGD616 Business Organization and Processes in Purchasing and Supply

PGD710 Research Methodology.

Semester II:

PGP621 Supply Chain Management

PGP622 Commercial Relationships

PGP623 Negotiation Skills and Contract Management

PGP625 Procurement Strategies

PGP626 Operations Management

PGP624 Case Study and Research Project.

Please note that any student who fails more than two modules per academic year will have to repeat the class.

Entry Requirement: Applicants must have a first degree from a recognized University and at least 3 years’ post degree work experience is compulsory. It is compulsory that all applicants must be computer literate; a certification of proof will be required during the Entrance Examinations and Interviews.
