MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY IN HISTORY
The M. Phil in History has both a taught and research component which are aim to equip students to better appreciate the discipline of history, its connections to other disciplines and its relevance to understanding and addressing current economic social and cultural challenges. The first semester taught component covers presentations in the following modules.
- Public History
- Modern China
The second semester taught component covers presentations in the following modules
- Philosophy of History
- African Heritage in the Americas
The second year of the course is devoted to research and thesis writing mainly in Sierra Leone history.
Entry requirement: Candidates with a good BA degree (Division II or better) or BA Honours degree (Second Class or better) in History (or a discipline approved by the Department) may register for the M. Phil in History.
